“Negligence is simply a legal term that talks about a duty of care. If an individual is driving and fails to drive in a safe manner and rear-ends your car, for example, they have acted in a negligent fashion. They have not acted as a reasonable, careful driver should act. And when an individual is acting in a negligent manner and causes you injuries, you have a right to file a lawsuit, or file a claim to recover your damages as a result of someone else’s negligent conduct.”
