“When insurance companies are not doing what they’re required to do by the terms of your agreement, then they may be acting in bad faith, and that’s something that we represent clients in resolving. There are many times when you must look to your own insurance policy to protect you when you’ve been injured by another driver who did not have insurance, or had inadequate coverage. And when your insurance company steps into the shoes of the tortfeasor and doesn’t treat you right, they’ve committed potentially bad faith, and in those bad faith circumstances you may be eligible for additional compensation above the bodily injury claim. You may be eligible for some type of punitive or exemplary damage because your insurance company has not treated you in the way that they promised to treat you when you paid for those premiums, and we do represent clients in bad faith claims.”
